The last six years have seen me working as an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) teacher at universities including (but not limited to) RMIT, the University of Edinburgh, and Monash University.
In this time, I have worked at a wide range of educational institutions across some six countries (Australia, China, Egypt, New Zealand, the UK, and Vietnam). I hold both a CELTA and a Cambridge Delta (EAP specialism), have extensive experience as an examiner for a range of international English language proficiency examinations, and have been fortunate enough to hold leadership roles in both curriculum and assessment development at a range of different institutions (most recently at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China). I thoroughly enjoy the work both for the travel (I haven’t seen a winter in over two years now!) and for the extraordinary variety of people I get to meet and work with – my last class had students from Brazil, China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam – great class, great people, and great fun!
